Like any moment of creation, taking a photo is a mixture of presence and absence from oneself;
a sort of floating and intense presence at the same time.
I trained my eye and my sensitivity in the footsteps of some of my elders.
They gave me my first camera, an Agfamatic 508 Pocket.
Photographing is like painting, composing in a frame, but in the moment.
As Martine Franck says:
`` A photograph is a fragment of time that will not come back. ''
It is this poetry of the ephemeral that touches me.
We are engaged with the time that unfolds in a moving composition.
